I had a high efficiency tank-less waster heater installed when I had the heating boiler replaced. It didn't seem smart to run the big boiler year round just for hot water.
After it was installed, I noticed slow dripping from the unit, I checked the manual, it's condensate and is supposed to come out. The manual suggests installing a little self contained sump pump (like this.) I don't want to go to the trouble of wiring up another outlet, then running 25 feet of tubing to the main drain.
Remembering to empty the bucket every week isn't really optimal either.
Any problem with drilling a one inch hole into the basement floor and running the condensate tube into it? I know the condensate is a little acid, I figured I'd put some small limestone pellets into the hole to help neutralize the water.
